Yoann Damet sees progress on field, just not in win column for St. Louis City SC
St. Louis City SC coach Yoann Damet is getting tired of saying the same thing over again.
But you can hardly blame him, because his team’s first four games have all looked a lot alike. A good effort, some good scoring chances, but none of them go in and the team loses. It happened again on Saturday, when it played one of the best teams in MLS even for 73 minutes before giving up two goals in an eight-minute span and falling 2-0.

St. Louis will host 8 matches, 1 a men's quarterfinal, in 2028 Olympic soccer competition
The dates and number of games for the Olympic soccer tournament in St. Louis in the summer of 2028 have been set and include one men’s quarterfinal match.
Energizer Park, which will be known as St. Louis Stadium during the Olympics, will host eight games, with the first coming four days before the opening ceremonies of the Games to allow more rest between matches for players. The stadium will have men’s group stage games on July 10, July 13 and two on July 16. Women’s group stage games will be played on July 11, July 14 and July 17. The men’s quarterfinal will be held July 20.
St. Louis City SC shut out for third consecutive game, remains winless
Mathieu Choinere scored twice off turnovers in an eight-minute span of the second half Saturday, lifting Los Angeles FC to a 2-0 victory against St. Louis City SC in Major League Soccer action.
Choinere made the most of his first start of the season as LAFC improved to 4-0 with its fourth consecutive shutout before 22,266 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
