After three straight MLS games on the road, St. Louis City SC gets to spend the weekend at home for a change, facing the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday night at Energizer Park.

City SC has had a tough schedule to start the season, but this may be the toughest opponent yet, with San Jose sitting atop the Supporters' Shield standings with an 8-1 record and 18 more points than City SC. Here are five things to know about the game:

Eduard Lowen made his return to action with St. Louis City SC on Saturday night in Seattle, and now that he’s back, the question for him and the team is: What’s next?

Lowen came on in the 89th minute against Seattle and, with stoppage time, played about eight minutes, during which he scored a goal — something City SC has not done a lot of this season. Coach Yoann Damet said Tuesday that Lowen can go 45 minutes.

In an otherwise forgettable evening for St. Louis City SC, a 4-1 loss to the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night, the team served up an unforgettable moment at Lumen Field in Washington.

Eduard Lowen made his first appearance on the field with the first team since his wife, Ilona, died on March 10, coming on as a substitute in the 89th minute and then, three minutes later, jumped on a blocked shot in the Seattle box and slammed in a goal.
