COLUMBIA, Mo. — The pickings have slimmed, the shelves turned bare, the stock run low.
Just over one month after the men’s basketball transfer portal opened, there aren’t many players still looking for their next programs. Of the top 100 portal players in 247ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ’ rankings, there are only five who are both available and not entering the upcoming NBA Draft. There are no players ranked between No. 101 and No. 200 available.
COLUMBIA, Mo. — The need for a player like Kennard Davis Jr. was obvious.
Missouri men’s basketball’s roster had size aplenty. There were defensive-minded forwards, a couple of dynamic guards, enough pieces to see that length was going to be the structural underpinning of next season’s Tigers.

Quite a bit, apparently, during my week off. While I was on vacation in England, the Mizzou sports world kept on spinning. A men's basketball transfer portal commitment, contract extension for athletics director Laird Veatch and football player arrest all came down the pipeline.

Freshman linebacker JJ Bush is charged with aggravated fleeing after police say they attempted to stop his vehicle. He is suspended indefinitely.
